Stars of the Week

Congratulations to this week's Stars of the Week, Chase and Justin!

Chase is an independent young man and a great worker. He’s good at all of our jobs, but his favorite is working in mixes. His other favorite BrightStone activities include going to the library, riding the exercise bike, helping serve lunch, and spending time in the computer lab. In his leisure time Chase watches Disney Channel, listens to country music, and eats at his favorite restaurant, Chili’s.

Justin has an opinion about everything. He’s a fun guy, and he could make a fortune if he wrote a book entitled “The World According to Justin.” Justin takes his work seriously and says his favorite job in the mix room is making bean soup mix. He also enjoys computer activities, helping serve lunch, playing basketball at the YMCA, and going for a treat at Chick-fil-A.

Stars of the Week: Barbra and Jeff

Barbra has a great spirit and is a good friend to everyone. She is a busy lady, and she says that in her leisure time she enjoys watching American Idol, listening to Kenny Chesney, and eating at Pizza Hut. While at BrightStone her favorite activities are working in the paint room, riding the exercise bike, going to the library, doing computer activities, and helping cook lunch. Good job, Barbra!

Jeff has an adventurous spirit, and one of his favorite TV shows is "Life in the ER." He has taken a CPR course and often wears his firefighter shirt. There is also a calm side to Jeff; he enjoys playing gospel music on the piano and listening to his many CDs (his favorite song is "Amazing Grace"). While at BrightStone, he says his favorite activities are stretching exercises with Melissa, working in the mix room, outings to Chick-fil-A, doing computer activities, and helping cook lunch. Way to go, Jeff!

STARS OF THE WEEK--Catherine & Jennifer

Catherine is ready for whatever comes her way; being in a family with 3 sisters has prepared her to be very adaptable. She is always excited about her day at BrightStone and says her favorite activities are working in the paint room, helping cook lunch, computer activities, grocery shopping and exercising with Melissa.

Jennifer is a people person and enjoys visiting with her BrightStone friends. She is also a good helper and is always willing to give a helping hand to everyone. Jennifer's favorite BrightStone activities are helping cook lunch, exercising with Melissa, bowling and saying the prayer before lunch. In her leisure time, Jennifer listens to country music and enjoys eating at Red Lobster.

Star of the Week: Allen

Star of the Week: Allen
Allen is a good worker and says mixes in his favorite work area. He also enjoys riding the exercise bike, grocery shopping, doing learning activities on the computer, and saying the prayer before lunch. In his leisure time, Allen enjoys watching Dukes of Hazzard, listening to rock and roll, and eating at Red Lobster. Good job, Allen!

Star of the Week: Brian

Star of the Week: Brian
Brian is a hard worker and takes pride in his work. He says the paint room is his favorite work area; he carefully paints the projects he is given and maintains his own checklist as he finishes each project. His other favorite activities include grocery shopping, computer activities, and completing puzzles in his word search books. Way to go, Brian!

Star of the Week: Cathy

Cathy was very excited to be named "Star of the Week." She couldn't rest until everyone in the building knew she'd earned the honor! Cathy is a lady who knows what she likes, and her BrightStone favorites include working in mixes, going to the library, doing computer activities, and exercising with Melissa. Cathy is a big country fan and Trace Adkins is one of her favorite singers. Way to go, Cathy!

Star of the Week: Michael

Like Cathy, Michael was very touched by his honor; we had to get a tissue for him! It's wonderful to see these precious men and women get excited about their time in the spotlight. Michael has been at BrightStone for a very long time and says he enjoys helping cook lunch, doing computer activities, painting, exercising with Melissa, and going on our occasional visits to Chick-fil-A for a treat. Michael also enjoys going to car shows, going to concerts, and horseback riding. We are proud of you, Michael!

STAR OF THE WEEK-JESSICA

Jessica comes in every morning ready to visit and joke with her friends. During Jessica's leisure time at home, she enjoys watching Disney movies, eating at Red Lobster and listening to country music. While she is at BrightStone her favorite activities include working in ceramics, riding the exercise bike, helping prepare lunch, and working puzzles. Her favorite BrightStone lunch is taco salad.

STAR OF THE WEEK-TARA

Tara takes life seriously. She puts great thought and her best effort into all of our activities. Tara's top picks for her BrightStone favorites are painting, learning activities on the computer, helping prepare lunch and exercising on the ergometer. During her leisure time she enjoys watching the Andy Griffith show, listening to oldies music, eating at Logan's and watching NASCAR!

Star of the Week: Don

Don comes in every morning wearing his ball cap and one of his favorite tee-shirts. He enjoys participating in all of our activities, especially playing ball at the YMCA, working in the paint room, bowling, and helping cook lunch. In his leisure time, Don enjoys watching game shows and eating at Taco Bell. Good job, Don!

Star of the Week: Mike

BrightStone has several die-hard country music fans, and Mike is at the top of the list! When his family takes him to the Grand Ole Opry, he has a ball. Mike's BrightStone favorites are stretching exercises, working in ceramics, doing computer activities, and going to the library. Way to go, Mike!

Star of the Week: Kelly U.

Kelly was filled with pride when her name was called as Star of the Week. She came marching to the front of the room with an "Oh! I can't believe it's me!" smile on her face. In her leisure time, Kelly enjoys watching Wheel of Fortune and dancing to oldies music. While she is at BrightStone, her favorites are painting, going to the library, grocery shopping, and helping cook lumch. We are proud of you, Kelly!

Star of the Week: Barbara D.

Barbara likes to keep busy reading, drawing, or checking out the unlimited opportunities on her new iPad. She also enjoys shopping with friends or family and watching "Dancing with the Stars." Her BrightStone favorites include stretching exercises, working in mixes, bowling, computer activities, and helping cook lunch. Good job, Barbara!

Star of the Week: Jenny

Jenny didn't feel well for a few months last year, but now she feels better than ever! She's back to her old self; she tidies up after everyone in the multi-purpose room and gives a few orders, such as "Come on, let's go!" (laughing as she says it). Jenny's BrightStone favorites include working in the paint room, playing basketball, bowling, and doing worksheets in the Learning Lab. Way to go, Jenny!

Star of the Week: Ali

If you came to the Christmas Program, you'll remember Ali rolling across the floor with Elvis sunglasses and a black Cadillac attached to his wheelchair. It was a great "Kodak moment"! Ali enjoys rolling his wheelchair around after lunch and visiting with his BrightStone friends. He also enjoys working in the paint room, playing ball at the YMCA, computer activities in the Learning Lab, and bowling. Good job, Ali!

Star of the Week: Kelly M.

Kelly would live at BrightStone if she could. She is always so wrapped up in what we're doing that she's never ready to leave! Kelly enjoys being with all her friends, and she likes the many activities we do. Her favorite activities are working in mixes, grocery shopping, playing ball at the YMCA, and helping cook lunch (taco salad is her favorite at BrightStone). Way to go, Kelly!

Star of the Week: Katy B.

Katy is very observant and often you can catch her laughing at some of the happenings at BrightStone. She enjoys being around her friends and appreciates their different personalities. Katy's favorite BrightStone activities are working in the paint room, going to the library, playing ball at the YMCA, helping cook lunch, and doing worksheets in the learning lab. We are proud of you Katy!

Star of the Week: Kim

Kim is thrilled to tell everyone how much she enjoys coming to BrightStone. Her BrightStone favorite list includes painting, grocery shopping, doing math worksheets, and helping cook lunch. After her day at BrightStone, Kim is excited to go home, relax with a cup of coffee, and watch game shows. Congratulations, Kim!

Star of the Week: Tammy

Tammy takes all of her BrightStone jobs seriously, however, she says painting is her favorite. She also enjoys bowling, using the exercise equipment, computer activities, and serving lunch. In her leisure time, Tammy watched Walker Texas Ranger, rides horses, and listens to country music. Good job, Tammy!

Star of the Week: Philip

Philip is such a gentleman! When things are a little hurried or stressful he has the greatest way of calmly saying, "Take your time, I'm in no hurry." What a great place this world would be if we heard that a little more often! Philip's BrightStone favorites include working in mixes, getting a snack at Chick-fil-A, playing Wii, and shooting basketball. Way to go, Philip!

Star of the Week: Stephanie

Stephanie is a hard worker and an expert painter. One of her favorite leisure activities is making cards for her friends. Stephanie loves all of her friends at BrightStone and never wants to miss a minute of our activities. While at BrightStone, Stephanie enjoys riding the exercise bike, painting, working on the computer, bowling, and helping serve lunch. Good job, Stephanie!

STAR of the Week-Jock

Jock is fascinated by the weather, and enjoys watching the weather channel and checking out books about the weather at the library. Jock is also the person that requested we sing Elvira, which is now our signature song that we sing at the end of each music class. Jock is an "old timer" at BrightStone and his favorite activiites include painting, bowling, computer and playing basketball.

STAR of the Week--Jon

Jon is our tech guy. He is the one we go to when our remotes are messed up or we need to hook up the Wii. He is also the guy you go to if you want to talk about sports. Jon is a good sport and is ready to participate in all of our activities. His favorites are painting, grocery shopping, reading, playing basketball and helping cook lunch.

Star of the Week: Elissa

Miss Elissa is a good friend to everyone at BrightStone. She is caring and is always concerned about any of her friends that are sick or absent. She is also a very consistent worker and likes to complete her jobs. He BrightStone favorites include painting, eating at Chick-fil-A, computer activities, and using the exercise equipment. Way to go, Elissa!

Star of the Week: Stephen

Stephen started coming to BrightStone last September and a happy, fun young man. He is ready and willing to try all of our activities. Although he enjoys our fun activities, he is also a great worker. His favorite job at BrightStone is painting. He also enjoys bowling, computer activities, saying the prayer before lunch, and stretching exercises. Good job, Stephen!

Star of the Week : Kate

Kate is a hard worker with a caring heart. Her greatest joy is helping her friends! Kate says she enjoys working in consumables, helping cook lunch, attending classes in the learning lab, and going to Chick-fil-A. In her leisure time, she enjoys watching Wheel of Fortune, eating at Outback Steakhouse, and watching the Tennessee Vols. Good job, Kate!

Star of the Week: Bobby

Bobby has been coming to BrightStone since September. He's an excellent worker and has made lots of new friends with his gentle, kind spirit. His BrightStone favorites are working in ceramics, computer acitvities, going to the library, and walking at the YMCA. In his leisure time he likes to watch Dancing With the Stars, listen to country music, and watch the Tennessee Vols. We are proud of you, Bobby!

Star of the Week: Justin

Justin is serious about everything he's involved in, and he takes pride in his work at BrightStone. Justin is happy to share with everyone the importance of his job; he's a great ambassador for BrightStone! His favorite activities are working in ceramics, computer activities, helping serve lunch, playing basketball, and our occasional trips to Chick-fil-A. Good job, Justin!

Star of the Week: Barbra

Barbra's charm is that she's easygoing and all smiles all the time! She is a consistent worker and seems to really enjoy her time at BrightStone. When she's here, her favorite activities are working in ceramics, playing ball, computer activities, and helping cook lunch. During her leisure time at home, she enjoys listening to country music, playing with her dog, Molly, and watching the X-Factor. Way to go, Barbra!

Star of the Week: Sarah

Sarah takes great pride in the work she does at BrightStone and gives it her best effort. She is also very talented at singing and dancing. While at BrightStone, Sarah says she enjoys playing basketball, painting, bowling, learning activities on the computer, and helping cook lunch. Good job, Miss Sarah!

Star of the Week: Catherine

Catherine started coming to BrightStone last July and never missed a beat; she immediately fit in! She is very social and enjoys her daily interaction with her friends. Her BrightStone favorites include stretching exercises, painting, grocery shopping, helping cook lunch, and playing games with her friends. Way to go, Catherine!
